NZ writer/artist Lisa Crawley has been short-listed for an APRA silver Scroll Award. Lisa is currently in NY shooting her latest clip. Fingers crossed that she makes the final list of five for NZ's most prestigious song writing award.
It's been an exciting year for Alanna Cherote what with all her Canadian activity, and now on the local front, we hear her album, 'Paper Flower' has been added to ABC's National Network Feed profiling the record for 2 weeks covering numerous ABC radio stations. ABC has already received over 680 calls from listeners commenting on the album. Come and be part of the celebrations for Alanna's record launch for 'Paper Flower' on Wednesday, August 3 at The Vanguard.

Jonny Love releases his second album 'Courage' thru Warner Music NZ. He'll be heading over to LA & Vegas to shoot a clip for the second single, 'Courage'. Whilst in LA he will play the infamous Viper Room.
The wonderful Lisa Crawley heads off to New York to 'hang out' and shoot a video clip. Her beautiful debut album will be released soon.
The ever cricket lover come quirky artist, SideKickNick is currently bunkering down in Berlin recording new material. You can hear an earlier song of his on the current Telecom ads.

Our favourite avant-garde act, GHOUL will embark on a co-headline tour alongside Collarbones this June. The band has also revealed that they will be supporting the legendary DJ Shadow on his Splendour in the Grass sideshow dates around the festival this winter as follows: Syd Fri June 3 @ Goodbar Small Club, Adelaide Sat June 4 @ Format & Melb Sun June 5 @ NSC Northcote. Notes in Newtown was packed to the rafters last night for the Sierra Fin launch for their debut album, Cautionary Tale Of The Beautiful Blackout thru the iconic label Half A Cow. "Sometimes big ideas can deliver big results." RAVE MAGAZINE. The band and orchestra were in fine form. It was a huge success with many industry faces agreeing that these guys are the ‘real deal'. To top it off, we were informed earlier in the day that Russ, Oli, Frosty & Joel took out second place in the instrumental category for the International Songwriting Competition. This is a HUGE feat which involved 15,000 other songwriters from 115 countries. Judged by a panel including Rihanna, Robert Smith (of The Cure), Tom Waits, Ben Harper, Robbie Williams and Kings Of Leon.
Alanna Cherote releases her debut album, Paper Flower through local Sydney based label, Other Tongues. April has been a busy month with four new signings at CMP - We are thrilled to have signed the avant guard sydney act, GHOUL and across the Tasman Sea we have been wooing the all girl pop act, IVY LIES who recently had a No#1 on NZ ITunes with their debut single, 'Addicted'. We also signed an Irish singer/songwriter, Paul Casey which came via our recent Midem trip. And we signed the radio-friendly NZ rock act, November Zulu. All writers are featured on our roster page.

I'm very pleased to announce a new writer to our roster, Martin Koshowko. Martin K originally hails from Poland, now based in Victoria, Australia. He is currently creating and performing music with two projects: Koshowko and Philosophy Of Sound. A philosopher turned music producer who creates an assortment of sounds under the banner, Electronic Dance Dub Hop. This is cool sophisticated dance music that features some wonderful dub with top shelf production. Enjoy!
Congratulations to Sierra Fin for their music piece, 'Death By Alarm Clock' being selected as a finalist in the Instrumental category of the International Songwriting Competition. Sixteen works were chosen from over 15,000 entrants, making this an extraordinary achievement. The most competitive year to date, so The Fuge is very proud of the boys! This comes at the perfect time with the release in early May of their debut masterpiece 'Cautionary Tale Of The Beautiful Blackout'.
Last month was a busy time at CMP for sync placements, A&R/TV network meetings, general house duties and potential new signings. We can mention one of those new writer signings - the talented singer songwriter Mark Scott. Born in Tamworth, Mark has written more than 200 original songs across many genres. He is perfect to pitch for future A&R label meetings and we're very pleased to have him at the Fuge family.

CMP welcomes Ronnie, Josh and Gino from the urban hip hop act, The Kumpnee. With their humorous lyrics, catchy tunes and fun energetic live shows (with a backing band), these guys can tackle corporate gigs to supporting mainstream acts. We look forward to working their music and finding opportunities where they can work with our other writers on the CMP roster.
Hugo Race has released his first solo album, 'Fatalists' thru local label, Other Tongues. It has already received global attention from CD Of The Week in Drum Media to a 4 Star review in Uncut UK and hailed in the Italian music press as a Masterpiece. Hugo will be launching the album locally on Feb 24 at the Northcote Social Club, Melb and March 9 at The Basement, Sydney.
The Never Ever have been hiding from the sun, writing new material and rehearsing madly. They've just finished filming their debut video to accompany the new single, 'Hey KT'. Band and management have already received strong interest from most of the music channels. And other opportunities are coming from afar including, Japan and the UK. Even Russia popped up on their radar!

We are all very excited at Centrifuge Music with the announcement of Luke Dickens winning the 2011 Tamworth's Toyota Star Maker competition, Australia's oldest and most successful music talent search. Held at the Tamworth Entertainment and Conference Centre, Luke was declared 2011 Toyota Star Maker from a field of 20 finalists and six grand finalists. In July 2010, Luke released his debut album, ‘Underdog ‘and started the album tour performing for the Australian troops in Afghanistan. Past winners of the TSM include the cream of country crop - Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan and Samantha McClymont. 2011 is going to be a very important year for Luke and his band. Huge CONGRATS!!!
Alanna Cherote will be heading back to Canada in March for Canadian Music Week. Her current single has just been added to Galaxy Radio, Canada's National Digital Radio Station.
We already have new releases scheduled in the first quarter for Hugo Race and Alanna Cherote plus our writers are busy writing and demoing for releases later in the year including Lisa Crawley, The Never Ever, Heartbreak Club and Will Stoker to name a few.
We have just signed a deal with LA music supervision company, Blue Buddah who will be representing and pitching works from our local NZ/Aust catalogues.

It's a busy month of signing for our A&R dept. Please welcome to the family five young savy teenagers with a huge POP heart - Alana, Dylan, Aaron, Jess and Bradlee from the wonderful The Never Ever.

The Autozamm album 5TH Degree debuts on the NZ chart at 16!
The delightful Lisa Crawley will be supporting the Modfather of pop/rock, Paul Weller during his NZ tour performing 3 nights at the Power Station.
Hugo Race departs our shores for a busy few months promoting his new release 'Fatalists'. He will be performing in Zurich, San Costanzo, Rome, Sao Paulo to name a few, returning mid December.
We are extremely pleased and excited to sign Jonny Love to a new deal. Jonny cemented his reputation as one of New Zealand's most talented new artists back in 2008. Jonny has just got back from the UK where he's recorded his second album, ‘Courage' at Modern World Studios with producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers). ‘Weight of Tomorrow' is the first single off the album.
We have signed the wonderful indie/folk musicians, Artisan Guns to a new deal that has put a huge smile on the Centrifuge face! We love these guys and we look forward to a successful future together. The new EP 'Hearts' has all the ingredients of their trademark folk/pop songs mixed with loud, brash walls of sound.

Four piece Sydney act, Sierra Fin completed their debut album, ‘The Cautionary Tale of the Beautiful Blackout'. The album is an ambitious and unique project augmented with a 26-piece Symphony Orchestra for the album's entirety. To our knowledge this undertaking has never before been attempted by an Australian independent act on debut. Singer/songwriter, Russ Tainton wrote the 200 page score which was conducted by Guy Noble and produced by Paul McKercher. Watch this space for further news...
